General
criminal law

My work in the case of allegations under general criminal law

If you instruct me with your defence in general criminal law, we will have an initial consultation. During that appointment, you will have the opportunity to describe your case to me in detail, so I can answer any questions you might have. I will then request access to the investigation file. Only from the file will we find out what evidence the accusation against you is based on. I will then discuss the next possible steps, risks and challenges with you. Together we will develop a robust defence strategy and influence the outcome of the proceedings.

What can I do as a defendant? Contact a lawyer!

As a person accused of a criminal offence, you have extensive options to help shape the course and outcome of the criminal proceedings. To do this, however, you absolutely need the help of a criminal defence lawyer who can assist you in your defence against accusations under general criminal law. Regardless of whether you have received a summons for questioning (“Vorladung” or “Anhörungsbogen”), a penalty order (“Strafbefehl”) or an indictment (“Anklageschrift”), it is essential that you contact a criminal law specialist.

Make use of your
right to remain silent

I advise my clients, not to make any statements to the police, the public prosecutor’s office or a judge. Under no circumstances may your silence be used against you, but any statement, however brief it might be, can be used against you.
